What is Post-Die-Casting Machining?

Post-die-casting machining involves precision CNC processing of as-cast die-cast parts to achieve final dimensional accuracy, improve surface finish, add threads, holes, slots, or other functional features that cannot be achieved directly in the die‑casting process. Die casting provides high-volume, near-net-shape parts with good strength-to-weight ratio; CNC machining then ensures tight tolerances, smooth critical surfaces, and assembly‑ready geometries. This hybrid approach is widely used in automotive, electronics, consumer goods, and industrial equipment.

Our Capabilities in Machining Die-Cast Components

We specialize in CNC machining of various die‑cast alloys, equipped with high‑speed milling centers, rigid fixtures, and experienced programming to handle the sometimes‑uneven material density and skin‑hardness typical of die‑cast parts. Our process ensures burr‑free edges, precise features, and consistent quality from prototype to production volumes.

From Die‑Casting to Finished Part

Submit your die‑cast part design or sample for a manufacturability review. We provide DFM feedback focused on optimizing both the casting and machining stages to reduce cost and lead time.

Common Die‑Cast Materials We Machine

▪ Aluminum Die Castings: ADC12, A380, A383, A360, etc.

▪ Zinc Die Castings: Zamak 3, Zamak 5, ZA‑8

We can source die‑cast blanks or machine your supplied castings.
